In Pennsylvania, a couple that wanted help paying for their wedding decided to sell advertising that appeared on their invitations and at the ceremony. Not only that, instead of saying "I do" the bride said "Did somebody said MacDonald?"
ペンシルバニア州のあるカップルは、彼らの結婚式費用の足しにと、招待状と結婚式で広告を出すことにしたそうだ。それだけじゃない。誓いの言葉の場面で新婦がマクドナルドのCMを入れるらしい。

※「Did somebody said MacDonald?」はアチラでのTVコマーシャルでキャッチコピーとして使われている。

Earlier today, George W. Bush said that he hasn't done any illegal drugs since 1974. Bush said he's sure the date because he is absolutely no recollection of 1973.
今日、大統領候補のジョージ・W・ブッシュは1974年以来、違法薬物とは縁を切ったと発表した。ブッシュによると、1974年だと覚えているのはそれ以前の記憶を喪失しているかららしい。

According to a brand-new survey in Bride magazine, one of the most unusual places a new couple makes love is on top of a washing machine. They also said the most common complaint by brides is that their husbands never make it as far as the spin cycle.
雑誌『花嫁』が行った調査によると、新婚夫婦がメイクラブする最も変わった場所の1つは洗濯機の上だそうだ。さらに、新婦の最も多い不満はダンナが洗濯機の回転周期ほど元気でないことらしい。

In a recent interview, the reverend Jerry Falwell said that he decided to tone down his anti-gay message. I think he means it because when he made the statement he was wearing halter-top and heels.
聖職者のジェリー・ファーウェルは、反同性愛者の主張を緩めることにしたと発表した。どうやら本気らしく、この発言中彼はイブニング・ドレスとハイヒールを着用していたらしい。

Today is president Clinton's birthday. The president said I got a lot of birthday kisses but none where I wanted them.
今日はクリントン大統領の誕生日だ。大統領によると、皆から祝福のキスを受けたが、そのどれも彼が希望する場所でなかったと言っている。

Reporters have been  questioning  George W. Bush's drug history. Since questions about George W. Bush's cocaine habit has surfaced poll show his lead has slipped from 47% to 40%. Apparently, Bush misinterpreted the poll because he said "Does that mean it's not as pure?"
マスコミはジョージ・W･ブッシュの麻薬歴について質問を繰返している。彼の麻薬疑惑が浮上して以来、支持率は47％から40%へと急落したそうだ。どうやら、ブッシュはこの結果を勘違いしてこんなことを言ったらしい「じゃ、純度が下がったってことか？」

President and the first lady are on vacation, and while on vacation president Clinton had a long telephone call with the prime minister of Israel. And the president was overheard saying "Ancient grudges should be put aside but enough about Hirary and me."
クリントン大統領とヒラリーは長期休暇をとっている。大統領はイスラエルの首相と電話会談を行ったそうだ。その際大統領はこんなことを言っていたそうだ「過去の争いはさておき、僕とヒラリーのことはほっておいてくれ」
